Azerbaijan, Iran defence ministers discuss Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Safar Abiyev met with Iranian Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Major General Ahmad Vahidi in Baku on Saturday, the press service of Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.

During the meeting the ministers discussed the ties between the two countries, regional security and the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.

Abiyev said that negotiations are under way to resolve the conflict, but at the same time he pointed out the need to strengthen the Azerbaijani army in order that the country would ready to liberate its lands from occupation at any moment.

Vahidi arrived in Baku on a working visit on Saturday.
