Kazakh President: We consider Azerbaijan as a main economic and political partner in the Caucasus

We consider Azerbaijan as a main economic and political partner in the Caucasus region and this relationship has been preserved in all years of our independence, said President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev during a joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev in Almaty.

The President congratulated Azerbaijan on behalf of the Kazakh people over the 20th anniversary of restoration of the country`s independence. He said despite all difficulties created as a result of the Karabakh conflict, occupation of its territories and one million refugees, Azerbaijan has reached “notable” achievements.

“Economic development indicators, improvement of people`s welfare and economic reforms show that Azerbaijan takes the leading position. And we are happy for it”, Nazarbayev said.
