“We attach great importance to legal cooperation with Azerbaijan”, Mohammad Mahfud

Azerbaijan`s Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov yesterday met with the visiting delegation headed by Mohammad Mahfud, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Indonesia. Garalov informed the guests on the democratic reforms conducted in the country under the president of Azerbaijan, including the reforms in the legal-judicial system, the organization of new court system, amendments to the legislature to bring it to the international standards.

The Prosecutor General highlighted also on modernization of prosecutor bodies, improvement of their material and social maintenance, training of personnel, the country`s integration to the world community, expansion of international contacts of the prosecutor bodies. Garalov said the country`s law-enforcement bodies do a lot in anti-corruption struggle and the international conventions the country has ratified set firm ground for further cooperation in this field.

The Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Indonesia Mohammad Mahfud said they were interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan where all-sided legal reforms are underway.  According to him, cooperation between the two countries in this field is of certain importance for the friendly countries.

Parties had comprehensive exchange of views on a range of questions of mutual interest.
