Candidate for Azerbaijani opposition party head announced

A person to be appointed Musavat party head by Isa Gambar is already known, one of the active party members, who preferred to remain anonymous, said on Friday.

According to a source, despite the majority of party members want Arif Hajili to head the party, Isa Gambar nominates Arzu Samadbayli.

Isa Gambar began seriously working for his deputy to head the party. On this occasion, Arif Hajili's supporters are dissatisfied, the source said.

"If Arif Hajili's and Arzu Samadbayli's supporters do not reconcile, Isa Gambar will not allow them to hold this position," he said. "Then, Vurgun Eyyub may be appointed to this position."

"I think that it would be better to discuss this issue after a venue and time of the party meeting are determined," Arzu Samadbayli said.
