Azerbaijan admitted to INSARAG

In October, Azerbaijan was admitted to membership of the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG), operating within the UN, the permanent mission of Azerbaijan to the UN Geneva Office and other international organizations said on Thursday.

Established in 1991, INSARAG is a network of disaster-prone and disaster-responding countries and organizations dedicated to urban search and rescue (USAR) and operational field coordination. It is a UN Organization that promotes the exchange of information between national Urban Search and rescue Organizations.

Azerbaijan's membership to INSARAG will promote the creation of linkages between international rescuer forces and rescue teams of Azerbaijan in case of emergencies, and also give an opportunity to participate in the training of the international group to share knowledge, experiences and information.
