The Pakistan’s leading English-language "The Nation" and "Pakistan Observer" newspapers published materials on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of restoration of state independence of Azerbaijan. The articles covered a ceremony hosted by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Islamabad to mark the 20th anniversary of restoration of state independence of Azerbaijan.

“To commemorate the day of independence, Azeris generally go wild with joy. Pakistanis also tasted such Jubilations when Azerbaijan ambassador to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov masterly arranged a great reception in a local hotel to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Independence Day of his country on Monday evening,” the “Pakistan Observer” writes.

“Parliamentarians, a large number of ambassadors, High Commissioners and other members of diplomatic corps, businessmen, educationists, mediamen and elites of Pakistan thronged the jubilations. National anthems of both the countries were played before the ambassador of Azerbaijan joined by Pakistan Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada and other diplomats to cut the ceremony cake amidst applause by the participants. The ceremony was a great taste of friendship, Azeri culture and traditions. Dashgin Shikarov, an enthusiastic diplomat is struggling hard to bring Pakistan and Azerbaijan closer to each other in all fields. He values his contacts with Pakistani government and the people which have yielded fruitful results as relations between both the countries are progressing well in all sectors. It was a great day for jubilant Azeri diplomats as Pakistani people from all walks of life were with them to celebrate their freedom jointly,” according to Pakistan Observer.

Another Pakistani daily, “The Nation”, writes: “It’s common to hear from Turkey and Azerbaijan that they are two countries but one nation, but we can say that Pakistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan are three countries but one nation judging from the blend of brotherhood that exists among three countries.”
