President of Swiss Confederation congratulated Azerbaijani leader

President of the Swiss Confederation Micheline Calmy-Rey congratulated Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev, and people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Below is the text letter.


"Your Excellency,

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, it is a great pleasure for me to convey to you, the Government and the people of Azerbaijan the sincere congratulations of the Swiss Federal Council. I would like to express my warmest wishes for your country`s prosperity, well-being and success.

Let me emphasize once again how much I appreciate the friendly character and the intensification of our relations over the last few years. I keep fond memories of my visit to Baku in March 2011. The increasing number of high-ranking meetings between representatives of our countries testifies the very positive development of our relations.

May the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Swiss Confederation continue to intensify in future.
