Demirel: Paying respect to national leader Heydar Aliyev is first thing I do when I visit Azerbaijan

Turkey`s 9th president Suleyman Demirel has said paying respect to Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev is first thing he does when he visits the country. “I start my ever trip to Azerbaijan by visiting the grave of my dear friend, great statesman and political figure Heydar Aliyev,” Demirel told journalists while paying respect to the Azerbaijani national leader at the Alley of Honors.

“National leader Heydar Aliyev and his spouse Zarifa Aliyeva will always live in memory of the whole Turkish people.” “The people of Azerbaijan must be proud of such a great personality as Heydar Aliyev. He is the greatest son of Azerbaijan.”

Demirel also praised Azerbaijan`s development, saying: “we are very happy about this”.
