“We invite all international organizations to help the settlement of the conflicts in the Caucasus region.
There is no guarantee for peace in nearby regions while conflicts in the Caucasus remain unresolved”, President of the Baltic Assembly Mrs. Laine Randjärv said at the round table entitled “Security in variable geopolitical situation: geopolitical stability in the Caucasus region” held at the Azerbaijani parliament.
Randjärv said delay of the settlement of the Caucasus conflicts extended the sphere of threats created by these conflicts.
“We can’t achieve any development while the conflicts in the neighboring regions remain unresolved. Due to this reason, the Baltic Assembly adopted two documents on November 28, 2009 on establishing geopolitical stability in the Caucasus region. One of the documents is related to the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The document demands soonest solution to the conflict on the basis of the international principles. Other document is related to the restoration of the territorial integrity of Georgia”, Randjärv said.
