Azeri ambassador presents credentials to Macedonian President

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Turkey Faig Bagirov who has got concurrent accreditation to Macedonia has presented his credentials to the Macedonia`s President Gjorge Ivanov.
First, the Azeri ambassador handed over a copy of his credentials to Deputy FM of Macedonia Zoran Petrov. Bagirov conveyed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s greetings and best regards to Macedonian leader Gjorge Ivanov.

Touching upon Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the diplomat thanked Macedonia for supporting Azerbaijan in this issue. The Azerbaijani envoy said during his term of office he would spare no efforts to contribute to strengthening Azerbaijan-Macedonia friendly relations and developing cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

President Ivanov congratulated Bagirov and wished him successes in his activities. The Macedonian leader expressed assurance development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Macedonia and cooperation in bilateral and multilateral format would continue to serve the prosperity of the two countries` peoples. The Macedonian President asked Bagirov to pass on his greetings and best regards to President Ilham Aliyev and Azerbaijani people. Bagirov informed the Macedonian President about the current state of peace talks on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

President Ivanov stressed Macedonia always supports Azerbaijan in this issue in international organizations. During the meeting, they stressed the necessity of strengthening political, economic and cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Macedonia. The Azeri ambassador also met President of the Macedonian Assembly Trajko Veljanoski to discuss expansion of interparliamentary relations between the two countries.
