Ziyafet Asgarov: Completely established, formed democratic elections system was created in Azerbaijan

The workshop for international observers on topic “Democracy and election rights of citizens” has kicked off in Azerbaijan today.

The experts on elections issues of CIS countries and MPs participate in the event.

First Vice-Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafet Asgarov welcomed the guests on behalf of Parliament’s Chairman Ogtay Asadov, wished success to the work of the seminar. Asgarov said that the workshop’s topic was dedicated to the topical issue:

“One of our purposes after Azerbaijan’s achievement independence was forming of democratic election traditions. Azerbaijan’s democratic elections tradition has started to form since 1993. Now the completely established, formed democratic system has been formed in Azerbaijan. 4 presidential, 4 parliamentary, 4 referendums and 3 municipal elections were held in Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani people have adopted enough election culture”.

Then the presentation ceremony of “The experience of democratic election the Republic of Azerbaijan: Parliamentary criteria” was held. During informing about the book printed in Azerbaijani and Russian languages, Secretary General of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Mikhail Krotov spoke about the significance of this book.
