Azerbaijan to host next International Forum on Diplomatic Training

Directors and deans of more than 100 Diplomatic Academies and Institutes of International Relations came together at the annual International Forum on Diplomatic Training hosted by Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University on September 25-28.

Regional cooperation on diplomatic training, international business diplomacy, role of diplomacy in the solution of environmental problems, diplomacy of transition period, UN multilateral diplomacy and other topics were in the focus of attention during the forum.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, rector of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) Hafiz Pashayev also attended the forum. ADA sources said that Pashayev informed the participants about the way of development and achievements of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy and said next year the Academy would have new modern education complex. Hafiz Pashayev proposed to hold the annual forum 2012 in Azerbaijan. He said international community can see the special attention of the Azerbaijani government to the development of education in the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy.

The rectors of the diplomatic academies and schools of international relations supported the idea of holding the annual forum in Baku next year.

The International Forum on Diplomatic Training has been held since 1972. Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy has joined this forum since 2006.
