
An international conference titled “Azerbaijan: strategic partner of Europe for energy security” was held in the Paris office of the Council of Europe. First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva who is visiting Paris has attended the conference.
Mayor of 7th arrondissement of Paris Rachida Dati expressed gratitude to Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva for participation at the conference, noting Azerbaijan is a strategic partner of France. The Mayor stressed special merits of the President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in deepening the relations between the two countries.
First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva addressed the conference, spoke of Azerbaijan`s role in ensuring the energy security of Europe, the development of Caspian hydrocarbon reserves, newly discovered gas deposits and diversification of oil transport routes.
The conference was also addressed by transport minister of France Thierry Mariani and the industry and energy minister of Azerbaijan Natig Aliyev, who spoke of the country`s oil strategy successes.

16.09.2011Azerbaijan`s first lady Mehriban Aliyeva has attended the VIIth International Congress of Victims of Terrorism in the French capital. The Congress is held by the French Association of Victims of Terrorism in partnership with the International Observatory for the Victims of Terrorism (CEU) under the patronage of French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
The event was opened by Guillaume Denoix de Saint Marc, director general of the French Association of Victims of Terrorism, who said the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was among the Congress` partners.
He said Azerbaijan showed a particular interest in the Congress, lauding the establishment of a terror victims association in Azerbaijan. De Saint Marc said he visited Baku to meet with terror victims. First lady Mehriban Aliyeva made a speech at the event.
