Azerbaijani and Czech governments to consider urgent economic issues

The urgent issues of trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic will be discussed in Prague in November.

The next meeting of intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between the two countries is planned to be held in Prague in November, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Czech Republic Tahir Taghizadeh said.

The Azerbaijani President signed an order on the staff of the Joint Commission for Economic, Scientific-Technological and Cultural Cooperation between the Azerbaijani and the Czech governments in May.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov is co-chairman of the commission from the Azerbaijani side. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Milan Hovorka heads the commission from the Czech side.

Azerbaijan is the largest trading partner of the Czech Republic in the South Caucasus. The trade turnover between the countries amounted to $67.5 million in January-June 2011.
