“Azerbaijan’s joining EURONEST is a very positive development and will help foster the relations between the EU and Azerbaijan, not only at government level or civil society level, but also at parliament level”, Charge d’Affaires of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Jerome Pons said.

Touching on the first session of the EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly, which will be held in Strasbourg today, Pons said that as getting closer to the EU ultimately means approximation of countless nationals laws and regulations to the EU acquisition – the set of EU laws that is applied in all 27 member states – the involvement of Parliament in bilateral relations between EU and Azerbaijan is paramount.
