Hungarian President Pal Schmitt will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on Nov.11-12, the Hungarian ambassador to Azerbaijan Zsolt Chutora said on Tuesday.
This is President Schmitt’s first visit to Azerbaijan. During the visit it is envisaged to discuss a wide range of issues of cooperation between the two countries.
President Schmitt will be accompanied by a delegation of representatives of business circles in addition to government members.
The second meeting of the Azerbaijani-Hungarian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation is planned to be held in Baku.
The first meeting of the commission was held on Feb.23, 2010 in Budapest. The meeting discussed the current state of bilateral economic relations and perspectives of cooperation development, in particular, in ensuring security of supplies, in petrochemical sphere, agriculture, tourism and construction sector.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, trade turnover between the countries hits $9.9 million in January-July.
