President Ilham Aliyev visits Shamakhi and Gobustan - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev yesterday examined progress of reconstruction at the Nasireddin Tusi Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory. Under the Head of State`s orders, the observatory received AZN8 mln to upgrade its facilities and carry out overhaul.

The Head of State got familiar with the museum of the observatory. The Azerbaijani leader examined rebuilding work in the observatory`s Yusif Mammadaliyev residential area.
The Head of State first laid flowers at the bust to academician Yusif Mammadaliyev.

The facilities here include a five-storied residential building, postal office, medical center, kindergarten. President Ilham Aliyev met with the staff of the observatory.

President Ilham Aliyev yesterday opened a new Training Center of Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Taxes in Shamakhy. The President was warmly welcomed by staff of the center.
Azerbaijan`s Minister of Taxes Fazil Mammadov informed the Head of State about tax reforms carried out in the country in recent years.

President Ilham Aliyev cut a ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Center, and then toured it.
The President was told the building of the facility started in 2008. The Center occupies a total area of 2.5 hectares.

The complex of the facility includes a 3-storied training building, 2-storied administrative building, hostels, four 2-storied guest houses, conference hall, sports and health complex and cafe.

Photo stands featuring life and activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev and reflecting care and attention of President Ilham Aliyev to development of tax system in the country were installed in the center.

The Head of State saw a video taped congratulation of President of the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations Svein Ragnar Kristensen on the opening of the facility.

After viewing the center, President Ilham Aliyev met staff of the facility and wished them successes. The Head of State and the center staffers posed for photographs.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Shirvan hotel to inspect the reconstruction work here. The Head of State was told the hotel had been built in 1974. The rebuilding of the facility started in February, 2010. The reconstruction of the hotel will be completed in December, 2011.

The 10-storied facility occupies a total area of 6000 square meters. The hotel has a bar, swimming pool, SPA center, gym, sauna, Turkish bath, billiard club, conference hall and 60-seat restaurant.

President Ilham Aliyev viewed a stand reflecting future look of the facility.
The President also gave certain instructions.

President Ilham Aliyev yesterday unveiled a monument to prominent Azerbaijan`s poet Mirza Alakbar Sabir in Sabir district here.

The Head of State laid flowers at the monument. The President was informed about land improvement work in Sabir district.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev yesterday  examined reconstruction progress at the Shamakhy Juma mosque. The Azerbaijani President was informed on the landscape work around the mosque. The Head of State viewed a stand reflecting a layout of rainwater collection system.

The reconstruction work is being carried out as part of the project “Azerbaijan - destination of tolerance” which was initiated by the president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva.

The Head of State was told that reconstruction of the Shamakhy Juma mosque started in March, 2010. Under the President`s executive order, Shamakhy Local Authorities received funds from the Azerbaijani President`s Reserve Fund to rebuild the Juma mosque.

The Azerbaijani President viewed a stand reflecting the future look of the mosque, and gave instructions and recommendations.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today inspected the reconstruction work at the Shamakhy Olympic Complex. The Head of State was told the rebuilding of the Complex started in 2010.

A total area of the complex was increased to 6 hectares.

The Complex has a sports hall, swimming pool, gym, fitness and conference halls, cottages and football stadium.

The President viewed stands reflecting future look of the facility. The Head of State watched a film featuring the Olympic hotel to be built here. President Ilham Aliyev gave relevant recommendations and instructions.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today has become acquainted with a modern grain warehouse complex in Qobustan. The Head of State viewed the warehouse`s scheme.

In accordance with the State Program on reliable food supply of population in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2008-2015s, the National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support of the Economic Development Ministry allocated AZN21, 4 million of credit for construction of 17 grain warehouses. This project has already been implemented.

The Fund had allocated AZN700 thousand for the construction of the warehouse complex in Qobustan. The construction of the complex, consisting of 4 warehouses, started in January 2010 and completed in September 2011.

The implementation of this project would contribute to increasing the corn production in the country. More than 40 thousand tons of corn was produced in Qobustan in 2011. Reconstruction works have been carried out around the warehouse.

President Ilham Aliyev praised the work done here and gave instructions and recommendations.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on September 13 inaugurated the Gobustan planting stock in the frame of his visit to this region. The Head of State was informed that usually the decorative trees and bushes were brought from abroad. The plant stock created in Gobustan will be useful from this point of view. The area has been equipped with necessary conditions for rehabilitation of plants here.

A separate automated water pipeline was built to supply the plant stock with fresh water. A four-storeyed ecological-health center and an administrative building are under construction now. Comfortable internal roads have been covered with asphalt. Currently, there are over 20 thousand trees and decorative bushes in the area of plant stock. The President inspected the area, where special arboretum, zoological and sports circles will be created in the years to come.

As stated, the plant stock to operate as the “Gobustan Bag-Bagat” Center in future employs 53 people. The specially erected Kyrgyz yurts will allow the visitors to have a rest here.
The Head of State expressed consent with the works done here and gave certain recommendations.

President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev has today visited the monument of the Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev in Shamakhi region erected in the center of city.

The President was informed about the reconstruction and renovation works carried out around the park which is also a place of rest for residents.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today has attended the inauguration of the Gobustan Experimental Range and Training Center of the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources.

The President was informed that the Center occupying the area of 38 hectares was equipped with wind, solar and biofuel energy stations. President Ilham Aliyev launched the Center, familiarized himself with a stand reflecting the activity of the Center, and viewed solar and photo-electronic panels and other facilities.

The President was told that lighting system and greenhouse in the Range are powered by alternative energy. The lighting system in 10 apartment buildings constructed here is powered by solar energy.

President Ilham Aliyev toured Gobustan Experimental Range and Training Center of the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources, and then met with local residents.
