Deputy Executive Secretary of the ruling "New Azerbaijan" Party Siyavush Novruzov clarified the issue with the law on "Status of ex-presidents".
"I did not say that the law on "Status of ex-presidents" will be applied to people who have not completed their activity on this post," he told Trend. "I spoke about those to whom this status may be applied in accordance with international practice."
He said that there are similar laws in the world practice. It is indicated there to whom this law can be applied.
"If anyone is elected by people, it does not mean that the law must be applied to this person," he said. "For example, someone is elected MP and he commits a crime a month later. In this case, he is deprived of his deputy mandate. The same applies to the presidents."
