Azerbaijani CEC organizes training courses for members of under election commissions

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan organizes training courses on voting right for chairpersons of district election commissions.

Press service of the CEC said that the courses are held according to the order issued by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on approval of National Activity Plan for the protection of human rights in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The purpose is strengthening outreach activity in election sphere, improvement of professional skills of local election officials concerning the fulfillment of CEC’s duties. CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov, Department Chief of the Presidential Administration Zeynal Nagdaliyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafat Asgarov and the other officials will participate in the opening ceremony of the courses.

Chairman of Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev, Chairman of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev, Department Chief of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov, First Deputy General Prosecutor Rustam Usubov, Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) Elmira Suleymanova, officials of the Interior and Justice Ministries, CEC members, department chiefs and lawyers will read lectures during the courses on September 5-11.

The Central Election Commission held similar training courses in 2007, 2009 and 2010 for the members of local election commissions due to the fulfillment of abovementioned presidential order.
