
The draft law which regulates the activity of NGOs in Azerbaijan will be discussed in the autumn session of the Venice Commission which will be held in October, Council of Europe’s Venice Commission said.
“The NGO law will indeed be on the agenda of the October meeting. At the
moment we do not yet have a position on this law”.
The Chairperson of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the PACE has requested the Venice Commission to assess the compatibility of the legislation on Non Governmental Organizations of Azerbaijan with the human rights standards.
The Venice Commission will discuss Azerbaijan’s draft law on Political Parties”. The Azerbaijani government appealed to the Venice Commission on it. This draft law is expected to be submitted for discussion in the Azerbaijani Parliament’s autumn session.
