
The UN GA has approved two Azerbaijan-related issues on its latest agenda of the 66th session which will start at September 14, UN Information Centre representative informed.
The issues under numbers 35 and 39 – “Protracted conflicts in the GUAM area and their implications for international peace, security and development” and “The situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan” proposed by the organization, as it wasn’t voted on during the 65th session, the source reminded adding, “there is a great chance that the 66th session will bring a significant progress in the issues”.
The next UN GA session will also consider the financing of the UN Observer mission in Georgia.
Besides that, an Azerbaijani expert Mr. Azad Taghizadeh will be among other 14 experts in the Committee on the protection of the rights of all migrant workers and their family members to present a report about the migrant workers to the Human Rights Council.
