The Pentagon can not ignore the fact that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement is a major problem for Azerbaijan and Armenia. It causes significant problems in U.S. relations with these countries, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense on Russia, Ukraine and Eurasian Affairs Celeste Wallander said in an interview with the Armenian Service of "Liberty" radio.
She said that Pentagon intends to concentrate on those areas of the Nagorno-Karabakh where it can provide constructive assistance to Armenia and Azerbaijan, News.am. reported.
"The U.S Defense Ministry's approach in this case is to focus in the areas where we can render constructive and useful assistance to both countries, that is, assistance which will enable these countries to increase their contribution to strengthening the international security," she said.
