Memorial plaque to Huseyn khan Nakhchivansky installed in Ukraine

Ambassador of Azerbaijan Eynulla Madatli who is on a working trip in the Volynsk oblast of Ukraine, attended an unveiling ceremony for the memorial plaque to mark the stay of outstanding commanders of Azerbaijan and Ukraine – Huseyn khan Nakhchivansky and Pavlo Skoropadskiy – in the Ukrainian Polesye.

A memorial plaque was installed in this city located in the north-west part of Ukraine, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of Brusilov offensive.

Huseyn khan Nakhchivansky and Pavlo Skoropadsky served as generals in the Russian emperor army. Nakhchivansky is a legendary commander of the World War I.

The ambassador said in his remarks that this is a remarkable event for not only the city of Rojishe but also the two friendly states. The diplomat touched on the role of generals Nakhchivanskys, generation of Kengerlinsky in the history of Azerbaijan.

Governor of Volyn said his delegation would visit Ganja, which is a sister city to Volyn.

The ambassador also visited Roven oblast where he met with mayor of Rovno Vladimir Khodko, leadership of the regional division of the Ukrainian Azerbaijanis Congress.
