
Azerbaijani Interior Minister Ramil Usubov received delegation of the European Parliament, which arrived in Baku to attend the 11st meeting of the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee of the EU-Azerbaijan, the press service of the Ministry of Interior said.
Ramil Usubov noted that ensuring European standards in various areas of public life is priority. On the way to European integration in Azerbaijan, laws were passed in the field of human rights, regulation of internal affairs bodies, etc. The Minister said that the police are successfully put into practice the objectives outlined in the National Action Plan for the development of law enforcement and Action Plan EU-Azerbaijan.
This applies to obligations under the Non-Intervention of law enforcement in the electoral process, the fight against organized crime, drug trafficking, human trafficking, terrorism, corruption, reforms in the Interior Ministry.
Ramil Usubov noted that Azerbaijan is a successful policy of integration into European structures. In order to effectively ensure the safety of citizens, protect their rights and freedoms of the Interior Ministry is working closely with organizations such as UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, the ECO has established bilateral relations with relevant bodies of EU member states.
To study the advanced technology in the last 10 years, over one thousand members of the MUP of the UN, OSCE, Council of Europe passed trainings and seminars in the United States, Austria, France, Hungary and other countries. In the Ministry of Interior is the principal work to eliminate negative phenomena among the personnel. Over the past 3 years for abuse and violation of civil rights and liberties 773 police officers were fined. Of these, 12 prosecuted, 50 were dismissed from the police, 68 were relieved of their positions.
Deputy from Bulgaria Slavi Binev and from Czech Republic Milan Tsabrnox noted the importance of cooperation with Azerbaijan. They expressed hope for further expansion of bilateral ties.
At the meeting, also touched upon other issues of mutual interest.
