Azerbaijan, Spain prepare agreements on avoiding double taxation and mutual protection of investments

Agreements have been prepared between Azerbaijan and Spain on avoidance of double taxation and mutual protection of investments, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said in a meeting with representatives of leading companies in the Organization of Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Spain within the visit to this country.

"Agreements on the avoidance of double taxation and mutual protection of investments, the signing of which is important for both countries, are ready," Foreign Ministry quotes Mammadyarov as saying.

Mammadyarov stressed the importance of their signing, for which representatives of relevant Spanish institutions will arrive in Baku.

Informing the event participants about the projects implemented in Azerbaijan, Mammadyarov stressed the presence of goods, which are produced in Spain, in Azerbaijan and said they are mainly imported into Azerbaijani market from other countries. He invited the Spanish companies to establish direct relations with Azerbaijan.

Stressing the low level of cooperation in economic and political spheres between the two countries, Mammadyarov underlined the importance of fundamental change in this situation. He stressed the presence of great opportunities for foreign companies in Azerbaijan.
