Azerbaijan's President receives EU commissioner for energy

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev yesterday received European Union commissioner for energy Gunther Oettinger.

Oettinger delivered greetings of European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso to the Head of State.

The importance of the 18th International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference Incorporating Refining and Petrochemicals was emphasized at the meeting.

They expressed confidence the exhibition would contribute to expanding international energy cooperation.

President Ilham Aliyev and commissioner Oettinger praised the cooperation between Azerbaijan and EU in various spheres, particularly energy one. They exchanged views on how to deepen this cooperation.

President Ilham Aliyev asked Oettinger to convey his greetings to Jose Manuel Barroso.
