President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visits Italy - PHOTOS - UPDATE

A concert program has been organized in the Quirinal Palace in Rome in honor of heads of delegations participated in the ceremony dedicated to the 150th anniversary of unification of Italy and Republic Day.

Then, President of Italy Giorgio Napolitano hosted an official dinner in honor of heads of delegations.

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev participated in the ceremony.

An official parade dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy and Republic Day was held yesterday in Rome.

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev has participated in the ceremony at the invitation of Italian counterpart Giorgio Napolitano.

The ceremony was held on June 2, as the monarchy was abolished by popular referendum and Italy was proclaimed a republic on this day 65 years ago - in 1946.

Delegations from more than 80 countries came to Rome to participate in the ceremony.

Majority of countries were represented at the level of heads of state and government.

More than five thousand servicemen participated in the parade.

Servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces solemnly marched in the parade with national flag, as well.

The ceremony culminated with aviation show.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received in Rome the Technip Italy CEO Marco Villa.

In meeting, the sides exchanged views on prospects of cooperation between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic and the Technip Italy Company in various fields.

President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan received in Rome the Edison CEO Bruno Lescoeur.

During the meeting, successful cooperation between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic and the Edison Company of Italy, the prospects of realization of the Turkey-Greece-Italy gas main project were discussed.

President Ilham Aliyev met with the acting president of Moldova Marian Lupu in Rome.

In meeting, the sides expressed pleasure with successful development of bilateral relations, noted the importance of mutual support of stance of each other on the international organizations and exchanged views on existence of good potential for further expansion of ties.
