UAE high-ranking defense officials arrive in Azerbaijan

The delegation led by chief of the Maintenance and Supply Office of General Staff of Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates Khalifa Mohamed Thani Al Romaithi arrived in Azerbaijan at the invitation of the Ministry of Defense Industry (MDI) of Azerbaijan, the ministry’s press service said.

The visit is being carried out according to the agreement reached during IDEF-2011 International Defense Fair in Turkey early in May.

The purpose of the visit is the research and development of cooperation ways between the General Staff of the UAE Armed Forces and MDI.

Within the visit the delegation familiarized itself with MDI’s "Iglim" Scientific and Production Institution, Computing Machines, Radio Installation, "Telemechanics" and oversaw the production process. The meeting of delegation with the top officials of the Ministry of Defense Industry is expected at the end of the visit.
