Azerbaijani FM: We hope the CSTO will convince Armenian side to withdraw its troops from Azerbaijan's occupied lands

19 May 2011 [18:46] - TODAY.AZ
"Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the statement of secretary general of Collective Security Treaty Organization on the importance of peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. We hope that the organization will convince the Armenian side on the necessity of withdrawal of its troops from Azerbaijan’s occupied territories in order to avoid the probability of renewal of hostilities", the press service of the Azerbaijani FM said commenting on CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha’s statement in Yerevan.

The press service also expressed its position on Armenian defense minister Seyran Ohanyan’s statement and named it nonsense: "Azerbaijan doesn’t pretend to anybody’s territory and doesn’t threat any country. But Azerbaijan reserves the right to use all mechanisms considered in the international law for restoration of its territorial integrity. Armenia is an aggressor country which occupied Azerbaijani territories and in addition threats Azerbaijan".
