Ukrainian President visits Alley of Honor and Alley of Martyrs

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych yesterday visited the Alley of Honor to commemorate the National Leader, architect and creator of the modern independent state of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and laid a wreath at his tomb.

The President also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

Yanukovych has also visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country's independence and territorial integrity. A guard of honor was lined up for the Ukrainian President here.

President Viktor Yanukovych laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.

A military orchestra played the national anthems of Ukraine and Azerbaijan.

Then, the President enjoyed panoramic view of Azerbaijan's capital.
