Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kemaleddin Heydarov received the delegation led by Latvian Interior Minister Linda Murniece, the website of the ministry reported.
Kemaleddin Heydarov spoke about Azerbaijan’s recent achievements in all spheres of socio-economic life and gave detailed information about the structure and activity of the ministry.
Latvian Interior Minister said friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia are developing and noted the importance of improving the relations on management of emergency situations between the relevant agencies of the two countries.
The sides discussed the implementation of "Agreement between the Government of Azerbaijan and Government of Latvia on cooperation in warning about emergency situations and their elimination" signed in Riga on January 17, 2011.
The visit program also includes familiarization with the activity of a number of agencies of the ministry.
