New Ukrainian ambassador to Azerbaijan takes up his duties

New Ukrainian ambassador to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishchenko arrived in Baku and assumed his duties, the embassy reported.

Prior to his appointment as the Ukrainian ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mishchenko served as director of the Fourth Territorial Department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry (the department’s terms of reference cover the countries of Central, Eastern Europe, the Balkan region, South Caucasus and Turkey).

Alexander Mishchenko served as the Ukrainian ambassador to Australia in 2003-2005, as well as the Ukrainian ambassador to Turkey in 2005-2008.

He carries the diplomatic rank of extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador.
