Azerbaijan's Justice Minister meets head of CoE office in Baku

Azerbaijan's Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov yesterday met newly-appointed head of the Council of Europe's office in Baku, Konstantin Yerokostopulos.

Mammadov praised cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe. He expressed confidence that this cooperation would further expand even more.

The Minister briefed Yerokostopulos on the ongoing legal reforms in his country. He highly appreciated CoE's participation in implementation of these reforms.

For his part, Yerokostopulos said ten years had passed since Azerbaijan's joining the Council of Europe, and over the past years the country had become the most important partner in region. The diplomat noted CoE was interested in deepening relations with Azerbaijan. He also praised working cooperation with the Ministry of Justice.

They also discussed other issues of mutual interest.

Yerokostopulos also visited Justice History Museum.
