The Young European Federalists hosted an academic conference “Still neighbor or European already – expanding European borders” in the German city of Heidelberg on March 11-13.
As part of the conference, a special workshop "Azerbaijan, frozen conflict and European Partnership Policy" was organized on Saturday for Azerbaijan, European Partnership Policy partner country.
Fellow of the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt Azer Babayev was invited as a keynote speaker at the event. Babayev touched upon non-constructive position of Armenia, which impedes resolution of the conflict. According to him, the conflict remains a `major` obstacle to region`s European integration.
Young European Federalists is a political youth organization. Active in most European countries and with 25,000 members, it seeks to promote European integration through the strengthening and democratization of the European Union (EU).
