Azerbaijani president expresses condolences to Emperor of Japan

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has expressed condolences to Emperor of Japan, His Majesty Akihito due to numerous victims suffered as a result of the earthquake, the Azerbaijani President’s official website reported.

"I was deeply saddened to hear the news of numerous casualties and destructions in your country as a result of a devastating earthquake," the message said. On behalf of myself and the people of Azerbaijan, I extend my deepest condolences to You, families and friends of the victims, and to the people of Japan over this tragedy, and wish the injured and wounded a rapid recovery."
