President Ilham Aliyev receives foreign countries' ambassadors - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev accepted credentials of newly appointed Ambassador of Spain Cristobal Gonzalez-Aller Jurado. The Head of State had a conversation with the Ambassador.

The President noted Azerbaijan attaches great importance to bilateral relations with Spain. The Head of State expressed hope Azerbaijan-Spain relationship would develop during the Ambassador's tenure.

President Ilham Aliyev stressed the necessity of defining new cooperative spheres to develop bilateral ties.

The Head of State also underscored the importance of relations between the two countries in terms of strengthening Azerbaijan's cooperation with the European Union. President Ilham Aliyev wished successes to the diplomat.

Ambassador Cristobal Gonzalez-Aller Jurado stressed the importance of relationship between the two countries, particularly in economic, political spheres.

The diplomat underscored the importance of the fact Azerbaijan's Embassy was operating in Spain. He also expressed hope that Spain's diplomatic representation with residence in Azerbaijan would be operating in the near future.

The Spanish ambassador also expressed confidence that he would spare no efforts to contribute to boosting bilateral ties even more.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev  accepted credentials of newly-appointed ambassador of Australia Ian David Grainge Biggs. The Ambassador passed along the guard of honor.

President Ilham Aliyev held a conversation with the ambassador. The Head of State recalled a meeting and "productive" discussions with Australian Foreign Minister in Astana in December last year.

Aliyev said the two countries had strong will to develop bilateral cooperation. Azerbaijan's leader underlined the importance of active cooperation between the countries in a variety of fields.

President Ilham Aliyev said the two countries have ample opportunities to promote mutual investment and expand bilateral relations in political, economic and business fields.

Mr. Grainge Biggs stressed there is still much work to do in order to develop bilateral cooperation, in particular trade, investment and people-to-people relations.

He vowed he would spare no efforts to contribute to enhancing these areas.

The Australian ambassador said his country backs Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

President Ilham Aliyev Thursday accepted credentials of newly-appointed ambassador of Sudan Mohammed Hussein Hassan Zarug.

The Ambassador passed along the guard of honor. President Ilham Aliyev and the Sudanese ambassador had a conversation. Mr. Hassan Zarug said he was honored to be an ambassador of Sudan to Azerbaijan.

The ambassador conveyed Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir's greetings and best regards to the Head of State and Azerbaijan's people. The diplomat said the two countries had shared values.

The ambassador said Sudan had backed Azerbaijan's rights concerning the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as resolutions introduced by Azerbaijan to the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the United Nations.

Mr. Hassan Zarug stressed the importance of boosting economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Sudan. He said Azerbaijan has big experience in the oil field.

The ambassador underlined Sudan would like Azerbaijan to share its experience in order to develop the country`s oil industry and invest in Sudan's energy sector.

The ambassador noted there are many Azerbaijan-educated Sudanese top oil industry managers.

The diplomat stressed the necessity to sign new document for education of Sudanese students in Azerbaijan.

The Head of State praised the fact that Sudan had supported Azerbaijan's territorial integrity within international organizations. President Ilham Aliyev asked the ambassador to pass on his greetings to Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev accepted credentials of new ambassador of Argentina Armando Juan Jose Maffei.

The ambassador recalled his fruitful discussions on the private sector during his previous visit as a member of the Argentine delegation to Azerbaijan, saying during the present visit he was impressed very much with construction boom in the country.

The ambassador expressed hope that his country's diplomatic mission would start operating in Azerbaijan next year.

The Head of State underlined development processes are going on rapidly in all spheres in Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev noted there is stable financial and political system in Azerbaijan. He noted the country plays an active role in a system of international economic relations. The Azerbaijani leader underlined there is good potential for expanding relationship with Argentina.

President Ilham Aliyev Thursday accepted credentials of newly-appointed ambassador of Thailand Mrs. Arbhorn Manasvanich.

The Ambassador passed along the guard of honor. President Ilham Aliyev and the Thai ambassador had a conversation.

The Head of State expressed confidence close cooperation between the two countries was necessary for development of bilateral ties. Aliyev stressed the importance of strengthening political relations between Azerbaijan and Thailand.

The Azerbaijani leader underlined the necessity to work hard in order to expand bilateral cooperation in a variety of fields, in particular economic, energy and tourism.

The Head of State said Azerbaijan was interested in presence of more companies from Thailand. President Ilham Aliyev noted the two countries' businessmen were interested in getting to know each other well.

The Head of State expressed confidence that during her tenure Mrs. Arbhorn Manasvanich would contribute to developing Azerbaijan-Thailand relations.

The ambassador conveyed greetings of Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej to the Head of State. The ambassador said Azerbaijan and Thailand had good potential to expand bilateral cooperation.

Mrs. Manasvanich said Thailand's businessmen accompanied her during the Azerbaijan's trip in order to explore opportunities for cooperation and expand trade relations.

She also noted small Thai community exists in Azerbaijan. The Head of State asked the ambassador to pass on his greetings to Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received credentials of newly-appointed ambassador of Slovenia to the country Milan Yazbets. The Ambassador passed along the guard of honor. Then, President Ilham Aliyev and Mr. Yazbets had a conversation.

The Head of State expressed hope that during his tenure the diplomat would contribute to deepening relations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia.

President Ilham Aliyev noted the heads of state had good and personal relations. The Head of State stressed the importance of high-level reciprocal visits for development of bilateral ties.

President Ilham Aliyev said Slovenia and Azerbaijan were close friendly and partner countries.

The Head of State underlined there was a solid foundation for development of relations, and praised the relationship between the two countries. Yazbets conveyed Slovenian President Danilo Turk's greetings to the Head of State.

The Slovenian ambassador stressed the importance of good personal relations between the countries's presidents for development of ties between Azerbaijan and Slovenia.

He vowed he would spare no efforts to contribute to expanding Azerbaijan-Slovenia ties during his tenure. The Head of State asked the ambassador to pass on his greetings to Slovenian President Danilo Turk.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev Thursday received credentials of newly-appointed ambassador of Paraguay Marcial Bobadilla Guillen. The Ambassador passed along the guard of honor.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev and the Paraguayan ambassador had a conversation.
Mr. Guillen conveyed the greetings of Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo to the Head of State.

He said "Paraguay is longing for the work with Azerbaijan's government and people".

President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope bilateral relations between the countries would develop successfully. Aliyev added that "our relations have not been so active thus far".

President Ilham Aliyev expressed assurance relations between Azerbaijan and Paraguay would strengthen, adding areas for cooperation would be defined.

The Azerbaijan's leader stressed its necessary that "our peoples and business structures could get to know each other better for development of bilateral ties".

President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope the embassy of Paraguay would contribute to boosting cooperation between the countries.

The Head of State asked the ambassador to pass on his greetings to Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev Thursday accepted credentials of incoming ambassador of Guatemala Arturo Duarte Ortiz.

The Head of State underlined that Azerbaijan and Guatemala effectively cooperate within the United Nations. The President praised good level of political relationship between the countries. He underscored the need to search for opportunities to build trade relations and outline new areas for cooperation.

President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the importance of strengthening relations between the two peoples for developing cooperation.

Ortiz delivered greetings of Guatemala's President Alvaro Colom Caballeros to the Azerbaijani Leader. The ambassador praised political ties between Azerbaijan and Guatemala, stressing the need to explore opportunities for creating good relations in other fields as well.

President Ilham Aliyev asked the ambassador to pass on his greetings to President of Guatemala.
