"Next round of the talks between Azerbaijan and EU related to associative agreement will be held on March 18"

"Associative agreement between the European Commission and Azerbaijan will be signed when the European Commission will consider the results of the negotiations between the sides acceptable", deputy foreign minister Mahmoud Mammadguliyev said.

He noted that next round of the talks related to associative agreement would be held on March 18 in Brussels: "Opinions of both sides will be learnt during the negotiations".

Note that, associative agreement is a document to be signed between Azerbaijan and EU within the framework of "Eastern Partnership" program. The negotiations started on July 16, 2010 and are conducted in 4 directions: political dialogue and reform, foreign and security policy; justice, freedom and security; cooperation on economy and sector; trade and trade relations.

Associative agreement will found new legal base for bilateral relations. The main purpose is to achieve closer political association between the EU and Azerbaijan, as well as achieve economic integration.

Answering the question on the issue connected with simplification of visa regime between Azerbaijan and the EU, deputy minister said that the EU had not given a mandate related to visa regime yet.
