Azerbaijan, Iran to sign several documents

Azerbaijan and Iran will sign several documents on economic issues in Tehran, the Iranian FARS news agency reported.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov paid a visit to Iran on Sunday morning. Today, Mammadyarov will attend the eighth meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in the second half of the day.

Co-chairmen of the intergovernmental commission are Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi.

Prior to this meeting the commission was held in Baku in March 2008. Mammadyarov will hold bilateral meetings with his Iranian counterpart Salehi.

As a result of 2010, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Iran amounted to $243.219 million. Export operations were carried out in the amount of $124.98 million, while the share of imports hit $118.24 million.

An expert meeting on the preparation of the agenda will be held on the eve of the intergovernmental commission’s meeting.
