Speaker of Azerbaijani parliament meets with President of Tatarstan Republic

Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan Republic of the Russian Federation, who is paying a working visit to Azerbaijan, met with speaker of Azerbaijani parliament Ogtay Asadov.

Ogtay Asadov spoke about the ancient history of the relations between Azerbaijan and Tatarstan, said political, economic, humanitarian and cultural relations are developing rapidly.

Touching on the interparliamentary relations Ogtay Asadov said Azerbaijanis and Tatars closely cooperated in the Muslim Faction at the State Duma in tsarist Russia.

He underlined the importance of extending relations between the members of the two parliaments. Rustam Minnikhanov said they attach great importance to the relations with Azerbaijan and expressed his confidence that the relations will further extend.
