
The Association of Azerbaijanis in Manchester held a rally in connection with the 19th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide as a part of the "Justice for Khojaly" campaign, the Association told Trend.
The action started at 12:00 on Feb.25 in front of the Manchester University and was attended by more than 30 Azerbaijanis. The peaceful protest was continued in front of the BBC Manchester Office. Protesters voiced the slogans ‘Justice for Khojaly’, ‘Justice for Azerbaijan’ and ‘No more Genocide’, the report said.
Then, protesters marched to the main street of Manchester Piccadilly Gardens. During the action, 33 foreigners have joined the campaign by signing the petition "Justice for Khojaly.
The international media campaign "Justice for Khojaly" (www.justiceforkhojaly.org) was launched on May 8, 2008. The campaign aimed to bring the truth about the Khojaly tragedy to the world and achieve the political and moral assessment of the tragedy by the world community is successfully implemented by hundreds of volunteers in over 30 countries worldwide.
