Winter session of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to honor Azerbaijani ambassador to Vienna with moment of silence

The winter session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which begins tomorrow in Vienna, will open with a moment of silence to honor the life and diplomatic work of the Azerbaijani ambassador to Vienna, Fuad Ismayilov, who died the day before.

OSCE PA President Petros Efthymiou expressed his condolences on this occasion.

“On behalf of the Parliamentary Assembly I express my deep condolences to the family and colleagues of His Excellency Fuad Ismayilov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the OSCE. We in the OSCE community were shocked to hear this sad news," Efthymiou said.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Austria Fuad Ismayilov passed away last night following a serious illness. Ismayilov was born in Baku on April 26, 1968. He graduated from the Arabic Department of the Oriental Studies Faculty at Baku State University. He worked in the Presidential Apparatus and various Azerbaijani diplomatic missions abroad. Ismayilov led the Azerbaijani Embassy in Austria since 2005.

Ismayilov was also Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE, a number of international organizations and Azerbaijan's ambassador to Slovakia, and Slovenia.
