22 February 2011 [19:35] - TODAY.AZ
The Supreme Council for Strategic Partnership of Turkey and Azerbaijan will hold its first meeting in the nearest future, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic told media in Baku.

"Now, the Supreme Council for the Strategic Partnership between the two countries is under preparation. It is expected to take place in the nearest future," Kilic said.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ankara Faig Bagirov previously said in an interview with Turkish newspaper Zaman that the Supreme Council for the Strategic Partnership of Turkey and Azerbaijan will gather in March or April 2011 in Baku.

He said that a delegation of Turkish Ministers headed by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will arrive in Baku to participate in the Council.

Turkey and Azerbaijan signed a joint document on the establishment of the Supreme Council for the Strategic Partnership at the Istanbul summit of the presidents of Turkic-speaking countries in September 2010.
