Turkey hosts conference on Turkic-speaking countries cooperation

Turkish World Research Institute, Ege University held a conference “Cooperation Council of Turkish- speaking countries and cooperation among them”.

Opening the event, director of Turkish World Research Institute Prof. Dr. Fikret Turkmen said the aim of the conference is to provide information about current processes in Turkish world and cooperation outlook of Turkish speaking countries to the university`s professors and students.

Secretary General of Cooperation Council of Turkish speaking countries Halil Akinci stressed the council conveying cooperation among four countries is the first organization in Turkish world. The Council connecting approximately 140 million people of the countries of true members - Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan and the observer status members-Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan is being designed to strengthen its activity. Reports have been prepared on Turkish speaking countries in Middle Asia and have been presented to the presidents of the countries.
