"Bloomberg" apologizes to Azerbaijan

Bloomberg news agency has offered an official apology to the Azerbaijani side for the mistake made in its article.

Earlier, Bloomberg posted an article on Feb. 16, "Azerbaijan has yet to receive a concrete proposal from Turkmenistan, holder of the world’s fourth-largest gas reserves... We are ready to provide transit for Turkmen gas". The article was placed under the photo of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and the statements made, were voiced via the phone by a person named Aliyev.

A misunderstanding rose up, shaping an opinion that the statements actually belong to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The presidential press office was contacted, and it became clear that President Ilham Aliyev did not have any telephone talks with Bloomberg agency.
