Bryza: Washington supports anti-corruption initiative of Azerbaijani authorities

Washington supports for anti-corruption initiative of the Azerbaijani authorities, U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Matthew Bryza, said at a briefing in Baku.

"We are ready to support the intensification of these reforms", the diplomat said.

Comparing Azerbaijan with the Middle Eastern countries, in particular Egypt, Bryza said that Azerbaijan may become an exemplary country by implementing democratic reforms.

The enlarged meeting of the Anti-Corruption Committee was held under the chairmanship of the Presidential Administration head Ramiz Mehdiyev on Jan. 27, 2011 in accordance with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's order.
