Germany to host event commemorating Khojaly genocide

Events to mark the 19th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy will be held in Germany, the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Diaspora reported.

Magdeburg will host an event to commemorate the victims of the genocide committed by Armenians in the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly. The event to be held with the support of German-Azerbaijan Cultural Society on Feb.26 will bring together around 50 representatives of the Azerbaijani, Turkish and Jewish communities.

Member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany S.Springer and Director of Global DEVELOPMENT Alexandra Mikhalchuk are expected to speak at the event. Guests will be presented documentary film on the Khojaly tragedy.

Schönebeck will host tournaments on boxing and kickboxing dedicated to the victims of the Khojaly genocide on Feb. 19.
