"A basis is being formed for new meeting of Azerbaijani, Armenian and Russian leaders"

The intensive consultations are underway among the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Russia  and Armenia, Russian Permanent Representative to the OSCE Anvar Azimov  was quoted as saying by ITAR-TASS.

"The frequency of such meetings shows the seriousness of the work carried out in this format and focus of the parties on specific and practical results. Thus, a proper basis is being developed for a new meeting of Azerbaijani, Armenian and Russian leaders," Azimov said at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna.

Moscow hosted talks of Foreign Ministers Elmar Mammadyarov, Edward Nalbandian and Sergei Lavrov on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on Jan.25.

Asimov also called for constructive and interested discussions on issues of crisis management in the Transcaucasian region.

He said such a discussion "in the framework of the Russia-EU dialogue and the OSCE will help bring close the resolution of complex conflicts and seeks to contribute to the achievement of appropriate arrangements for the benefit of the involved parties and European security in general."

Summarizing his speech, Azimov expressed hope for "continuation of effective and close interact with the EU, which would raise our cooperation with Brussels on a new strategic level - to discuss problems in the field of crisis management to develop specific joint solutions". "Russia is ready for this," he said. "We will naturally increase similar interaction with our American partners."
