Co-chairman: OSCE Minsk Group's mission is to promote current efforts

The OSCE Minsk Group's mission is to promote current efforts to try to achieve the approval of the "basic principles" of peaceful resolution of the conflict, French Co-chairman of the Minsk Group Bernard Fassier  told journalists after arriving in Baku.

Prior to the visit to Azerbaijan mediators held meetings in Yerevan and Khankendi.

"In Armenia we met with the President, as well as the foreign and defense ministers. We plan to meet with the Azerbaijani President and Foreign Minister, and if it will be possible with the Defense Minister in Baku tomorrow," Fassier said.

OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmen, Robert Bradtke from the United States, Bernard Fassier from France, and Igor Popov from Russia arrived in Azerbaijan on Thursday.

Elmar Mammadyarov, Edward Nalbandian and Sergei Lavrov held talks on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution in Moscow on Jan. 25.
