Professor of the US Louisville University Justin McCarthy made a presentation entitled “Prejudice, Deception, and the Armenian Question” at a conference on Turkish-Armenian relations held at the London School of Economics.
He noted Armenian genocide claims are fictitious and US and English press provide biased coverage of the issue. The American historian was attacked by Armenians at an event, which gathered Turkish ambassador Ahmet Unal Cevikoz, members of the Federation of Turkish Associations UK.
On the developments beginning from 1890, Prof. McCarthy noted reports on the Ottoman Empire by English and American press, which referred to the Armenian lies are the main source for these claims.
The American historian said missionaries wrote various books based on deceptions.
Unfortunately, according to him, some lobbyists with political ambitions portray these lies as truth even today.
McCarthy showed maps published during those years drawing conference participants` attention to great mistakes.
