Baku must respond to the anti-Azerbaijani actions of Iran, otherwise it can become a threat to Azerbaijan, director of the Political Innovation and Technology Center, political analyst Mubariz Ahmadoglu said.
"Azerbaijan has enough resources to fight against Iran. It is necessary to use the opportunities of diaspora in such issues," he said at a press conference dedicated to the results of international and regional socio-political processes in January 2011.
Some circles in Iran are trying to interfere in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan. The Iranian TV channel Seher-2 conducts propaganda against the Azerbaijani statehood.
He said that despite the fact that Iran is an Islamic Republic, it supports Armenia. It does not observe any religious rules in its relations with Azerbaijan.
At present, Iran does not support the normal partnership relations with any of its neighbors, the analyst said. "The relations with Azerbaijan are important for Iran in terms of international relations of this Islamic country," he said.
He said that the activity of Islamic Culture Center, functioning in Azerbaijan, provokes tensions in Azerbaijani-Iranian relations. It is necessary to require a report on the activities of this organization and to suspend its work, the analyst said.
